Our Founder
Neha Gulati is a Melbourne interior designer with 17 years of experience across Melbourne and London. She has led residential projects at respected architectural studios and headed entire interior departments. In 2026 she founded Storey & Stone to practise design the way she believes it should be done: slowly, personally and with discernment.
Her work is shaped by a respect for heritage, lifestyle & lagacy. She believes a home should reflect the people who live in it, not a signature look or aesthetic.

Our Journey
Neha's career began in Melbourne and grew through residential projects in London, Dubai and beyond. Working inside architectural practices taught her how a home is actually built: documentation, joinery detail, compliance and coordination with trades. Leading interior departments taught her how to guide clients through complexity.
Over time she saw a tension in the industry. Some homes are shaped by a designer's signature aesthetic. Others are assembled from online references and trend cycles. In both, something essential is missing: interpretation and a genuine understanding of the people who will live there.
Storey & Stone is her answer. Listen deeply, Interpret carefully & Design intentionally. The result is a considered translation of the lives lived within the space.
Today the studio specialises inmulti-generational homes, apartments/compact homes, renovations & holiday rentals across Melbourne and Victoria.
